Experience
Brian has over 30 years experience in planning and managing projects.
Brian established Project Planning and Support to provide specialist planning and project management expertise to enable clients to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
Immediately prior to establishing Project Planning and Support, Brian was the planning manager for the Regional Prisons Development Project, a $920 million programme for the design, construction and commissioning of four new prisons. In this role, he was responsible for planning, the implementation of a standardised planning framework across the programme, developing quality assurance systems for the planning activities, project trouble-shooting and managing the programme planning team.
Between 1997 and 2001, Brian held several project management positions in the construction industry. He was responsible for the management and planning of re-strengthening and construction projects. In particular, Brian planed the $420M expansion of Sydney International Airport and developed the Wellington hospital refurbishment master plan for Civil and Civic.
Brian was the Planning and Resource Manager for Mainzeal Property and Construction from 1986 to 1997. Brian developed the plan for the Majestic Centre, which enabled the project to be delivered ahead of the agreed deadline. He also developed a planning training course for foremen and quantity surveying cadets and a computer programme to record the location, and internal hirage charges, of company equipment.
Prior to 1986, Brian held various technical, management and project roles.
Qualifications
Brian has a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Civil) and a Diploma of Business Studies (Dispute Resolution). Brian also has a Certificate in Quality Assurance from the New Zealand Organisation for Quality.

Brian is a member of the Project Management Institute and an associate member of the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of New Zealand.
